Serge TREFEU: hello, how are you?

KAEW FAIRTEX: Well very well

How old are you?

I have 24 years old

Where you come from?

I come from Isaan (Northeast of the country). My city of childhood is called Chayaphum, it is between Korat and Khon Kean

Have you brothers and sisters?

I have a brother and two sisters

Your brother was a boxer?

My brother does not make boxing …

You were brawler when you were a child?

Yes I liked the brawl …

You began the boxing at which age?

In 10 years

Your first fight you have him make for which age?

From 10 years!

How did you discover the boxing?

My father likes Muay Thai, it is him who has me passed on his passion…

Did you begin Muay Thai in a camp in the region of Isaan?

I’m training in my home. It is my father who was my trainer. I am then little train to the camp Sak Arunt

Towards what age you left for the capital?

In 14 years

In what camp you were in Bangkok?

I went directly to the camp Fairtex Gym of Bangkok

How long you stayed in Fairtex Gym of Bangkok?

About 8 years

Today you always belong in Fairtex Gym but in Pattaya, you are since how long here?

Now it has been two years since I belong here to the Fairtex of Pattaya

There is a difference between the camp of Bangkok and that of Pattaya?

In Fairtex of Bangkok I was indeed but here it is still better, it is really the “top”!

You have your personal room here?

Not I share my room with Khem (Radja Champion, World champion WMC, Champion S1, Thailand Champion) who is here since soon one year

In what category you fight today?

– 59 kg and – 61 kg

What are the titles which you gained?

I am double World champion WBC in 130 lbs (- 59 kg) in 2006 and 2007. I also gained the belt of Lumpinee in 2005 and I gained the belt of the Thailand in 2004

How many fights, how many wins and losses?

119 fights. 80 wins. 35 Losses and 4 draws

You won many fights by Knock Out?

I have more than 40 K.O.!

You have which style of boxing?

I am a toymat (strong in fist)

Your hardest fight it was against which fighter?

It was against Sarawut Lukbanyai in the Lumpinee Stadium (win on points). At the end of the 5th round I had died, after the fight I left at the hospital!

What is your best memory of boxing?

My victory by K.O. against Pansak Look Bor Kor in Lumpinee Stadium. Pansak is a redoubtable boxer in Thailand…

You have already fought abroad?

Yes in Japan, in Mexico and in the United States in Los Angeles

Would you like to go to fight in Europe for example in France?

Yes I like going to fight abroad…

Do you know French boxers?

I do not know too much the French boxers. I know a little name Stong Skarbowsky which fought in Thailand and also the one who fought against Attachai, Fabio Pinca, it is everything…

Who is for you the best fighter’s foreigner?

The best in the time it was Ramon Dekkers, I liked looking at his fights at the TV. Later I would say John Wayne Parr and now the Dutch Andy Souwer, I find him very strong…

Who is your promoter?

It is Phillip Wong from Fairtex 

You well earn the keep today?

Yes OK, I bought a house for my family to Chayaphum in Isaan. I also bought a car for my father…

Who is for you the best boxer at present in Thailand?

It is Seanchai Sor Kingstar!

What technique do you like most?

I like very much hooks and uppercuts

Your next fight it is for when?

I fight on Saturday, March 21st in Lumpinee Stadium against Duangsompong, it is the champion of the current Lumpinee there – 61 kg.

It is for a belt?

No for a belt

What would you like to make after the boxing?

I would like to have my own camp to me to Chayaphum, it is quiet in Isaan, I prefer to be over there that to Pattaya or Bangkok…

March 21st, 2009 in the stadium of Lumpinee Kaew beat in points Duangsompong Kor. Sapaotong the current champion of the Lumpinee 135 lbs (61 kg). He is classified N°1 of Lumpinee in his category today.

Kaew Fairtex was the first fighter won the world title WBC version Muay Thai, it was in Mexico City on June 28th, 2006!
