Jean-Charles Skarbowsky nicknamed “Chong” by the Thai is a real phenomenon in the world of Muay Thai. We can classify him among the European living legends of Muay Thai of the 90s as well as Dany Bill, Stephane Nikiema, Morad Sari, Rob Kaman or Ramon Dekkers who all possessed “the Fighting Spirit” for a long time!

Endowed with a terrible punch, he struck down many of his opponents. Technically, he was formidable with his feet and fists. But above all he owned a very dangerous Boxing.

He has often been compared to the great Dutch champion Ramon Dekkers for his exceptional fighting spirit and his exceptional mind.

At the age of 20 years, Jean-Charles Skarbowsky won the Muay Thai European Champion belt, a real feat for the time.

EUROPEAN CHAMPION AT 20 YEARS OLD

Jean-Charles Skarbowsky settled in Thailand and lived six years in the kingdom of Muay Thai. He was preparing in one of the most prestigious camps in the country, the Jocky Gym of Master Somat Hong Sakoun. In this mythical camp, he discovered and learned the secret techniques of the ancestral art of Muay Thai. Chong was training alongside stars Saenchai Sor Kingstar, Lerdisa Chumpertour, Robert Kaennorasing, Kaoklai Kaennorasing, Chaowarit Jockygym. For his fights, he was often prepared by the two best trainers in Bangkok, Khru Pi Pa and Khru Pi Det, as well as Khru Palem.

But his great experience of this very hard sport, he acquired it on the Thai rings of the great stadiums of Bangkok. He has fought in three of the four most important stadiums in Bangkok, at the Radja Stadium, at the Lumpinee Stadium and at the Omnoi Stadium where he faced the greatest champions of the 2000s. He was often in “Main Event” in the stadiums of Bangkok, which is very rare for a foreigner. Out of his ten fights at the Radja stadium, he won four by knockout, one in points and drew. At the Lumpinee stadium, he was never beaten with four wins, including two by knockout. Chong has also fought in Omnoi Stadium, in the famous King’s Birthday show and in many provincial shows across the country. His promoter in Thailand was Mr. Songchai Ratanasuban, the country’s most important promoter of the 1990s and 2000s.

Jean-Charles Skarbowsky made almost a hundred fights during his career and half were done in Thailand, he faced all the Thai champions of the moment. Thanks to his formidable punch, he knocked out the best in his category, such as Kaoponglek Luksuratham (Lumpinee Champion, Best Boxer of the Year 1995), Orono Por Muang Ubon (Lumpinee Champion, Best Boxer of the Year 1994) ), Chokdee Pro Pramuk (Lumpinee Champion), Mangkong Kietsomkoum (Radja Champion), Nonthanon Por Pramuk (N° 1 Lumpinee ), Lamsongkram Chuwathana (Radja Champion), Robert Kaennorasing (Radja Champion) and beaten in points the great champions Suriya Sor Ploenchit (Lumpinee Champion), Khunsuk Petchsupapan (N° 1 Lumpinee), Rambo Two (N° 1 Lumpinee), Weera Chalunlape (N° 3 Lumpinee). Chong also had memorable fights against the stars Buakaw Por Pramuk (1st Frenchman to meet the K1 star in 2005), Eh Phoutong, John Wayne Parr, Jordan Tai, Wanlop Sitpholek, Ole Laursen!

JEAN-CHARLES SKARBOWSKY HAS THRILLED THE PUBLIC OF THE BIG STADIUMS OF BANGKOK

In 2003, Jean-Charles Skarbowsky became the first westerner to be ranked n°1 at the mythical Radja stadium after his victory by KO over the reigning champion of the – 63 Kg. On January 5, 2006, at the Radja stadium, he defeated the terrible Lamsongkram by KO (Radja reigning champion in 70 kg) and he was again n°1 in the Radja ranking!

Nicknamed «Namhon Morana» (The Deadly Perfume) by the Thais, Jean-Charles Skarbowsky fought 97 fights for 75 victories including 50 by KO. Internationally, his nickname of fighter was «Dragon Tattoo».His ring name is known all over the world, this legend of the rings to his character of fighter in the Japanese mangas.

Today, Jean-Charles Skarbowsky has opened his own boxing camp in Bangkok, the Skarbowsky Gym (Formerly the Jocky Gym), as well as the Skarbowsky Gym in Paris in the 20th arrondissement and in the 18th arrondissement. A fourth Skarbowsky Gym camp has just opened in China.

Chong Skarbowsky has been teaching with passion for ten years, he now has many members in his two gyms in Paris. Gyms in which he is assisted by coaches with an exceptional pugilistic past, such as Stephane Nikiema (World champion, European champion), Jaid Seddak (World champion, European champion), Rachid El Herdmi (World champion, European champion), Andre Richard-Nam (European champion), Bruno Benlabed (European champion). Master Skarbowsky was, for a time, the coach, in technique of Muay Thai, of the MMA superstar, the Canadian Georges St-Pierre (UFC welterweight champion, UFC middleweight champion)!
