SEDTHEE FIGHT CLUB Love at first sight and Muay Thai: The story of the Swedish woman who won the heart of a Thai champion!
by Serge TRÉFEU (2026)
The Sedthee Fight Club is located in the heart of the mountains of Chiang Mai, the cultural capital of northern Thailand.

If this Muay Thai camp attracts enthusiasts today, it’s because its foundations rest on an extraordinary love story and a remarkable sporting achievement. Nothing predestined this fierce woman from the Scandinavian cold and this gifted fighter from the Deep South to have their destinies intertwined. A look back at the epic journey of two exceptional champions.

Before becoming a leading figure in women’s Muay Thai, Teresa Wintermyr graced the catwalks as a top model. But beneath the Swedish beauty’s elegance lay the fighting spirit of her Viking ancestors. Leaving the fashion spotlight behind for the harsh glare of the ring, she settled in Thailand and forged her reputation at the renowned Sinbi Gym in Phuket, as well as at other camps in the region.

A formidable fighter, Teresa climbed the ranks to achieve global recognition.
In 2012, she captured the WMC world title in the -53 kg (118 lbs) category by defeating Finland’s Sonal Pattni in Phuket.
She defended her belt brilliantly by knocking out Thailand’s Petchdara.

Her list of champions includes the names of champions such as Duannapa Mor Rattanapundit, Saifah Sor Suparat, Chommanee Sor Taehiran and Jessica Sanchez.

Facing this Scandinavian Amazon, a man with an equally grand destiny was needed. Sedthee Erawan, the prodigy from the South, is a pure product of traditional Thai boxing.
Trained in the rigorous school of Erawan Boxing, a champion camp located in Yala City in the far south of Thailand, Sedthee proved to be a true phenomenon of precocity.
Even before bursting onto the scene in the capital, he was crowned champion in the -41 kg category in three provinces, then champion in the -45 kg category in no fewer than fourteen provinces.
At just 20 years old, in 2006, he made history by becoming the sixth winner of the legendary Tiger Cement tournament at the TV7 Stadium, defeating Petchdam Kiatsornan in the final.

On August 31, 2008, he captured the Stadium TV7 belt in the 118 lbs (-53 kg, the same weight class as Teresa!) against the formidable Kaotaeng Surapichfarm, definitively cementing his name among the legends of his generation.

It was in the country that sparked their shared passion that these two phenomenal figures met. The two champions shared the same preferred weight class (118 lbs), a twist of fate.
Beyond borders and cultures, the former Swedish supermodel and the Thai prodigy found love, sealed by their mutual respect for their respective journeys in the ring. This alliance of North and South gave birth to the Sedthee Fight Club!
Eager to pass on their knowledge and write a new chapter in their lives together, they chose to settle far from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and the heat of Phuket. In Chiang Mai, they founded their boxing camp.
A joint interview with the warrior couple of the ring, Teresa and Sedthee:
Hello Teresa. Did you start Muay Thai in Sweden or Thailand?
Teresa: I started Muay Thai in Sweden, but I really began intensive training in Thailand, in the Chiang Mai region. More precisely, in the village of Pai, at a small boxing camp. I was 27 at the time. I started this sport quite late, but I loved discovering it at its very source, here in Thailand
How old are you now?
Teresa: I’m 45

Hello Sedthee. At what age did you start boxing?
Sedthee: I started training in Muay Thai at the age of 8, when I weighed 19 kg. I was born in the Northeast region, in Roi Et province, in the village of Nong Phok. But my parents later moved to the south of the country, to Yala province
How old are you now?
Sedthee: I’m 39 years old
Which boxing camp did you train at for the first time in Thailand?
Teresa: Chanchai Gym, which was located in the village of Pai. It had only been open for six months, and I was the only female boxer among about ten fighters. I had my very first fight after only a month of training, at the Thaphae Boxing Stadium in Chiang Mai, a match I won on points
At what age did you have your first fight?
Sedthee: At 8 years old, after only a few months of training. It was a three-round match that I won, and I won 100 baht! (Laughs)
How many fights have you had?
Teresa: I’ve fought 95 times. I’ve had 91 fights in Thailand and four abroad: once in Finland, once in Australia, once in Hong Kong, and once in Bali. I have about 50 wins.
I’ve often fought in the Phuket area as well as in Bangkok, especially at major events like the Queen’s Birthday and the King’s Birthday. I actually fought at those events for a WMC world championship belt, which I unfortunately lost on points. I also fought for a WPMF world title, which I didn’t win

How many fights have you had in your career?
Sedthee: I’ve had 170 fights with 150 wins
You won a WMC world championship belt. Where was it and against whom?
Teresa: In 2012, I won the WMC world title in the -53 kg category against Sonal Pattni from Finland. She’s a good fighter, and we became friends afterward. We trained together at the same camps later on. I defended my WMC title against a Thai champion, whom I beat by knockout
Did you win the Tiger Cement tournament at Stadium TV7?
Sedthee: Yes, the sixth Tiger Cement tournament in 2006. In the final, I beat Petchdam Kiatsornan!
Then, in 2008, I won the Stadium TV7 belt at 118 lbs against Kaotaeng Surapichfarm. My promoter was Chun Kietpetch (owner of Kietpetch Gym and owner of Stadium TV7)
Which well-known champions have you beaten?
Sedthee: I beat Saen Parunchai (Lumpinee champion), Rakkiat Kiatpraphat (Lumpinee champion and Isuzu tournament champion), Tawan Daeng Khon Kaen, Yokphet Phetkasem, and many others…
How did you two meet?
Teresa: We trained together at the same boxing camp in Phuket, a large camp called AKA Thailand. That was in 2016, about ten years ago now…

When did you open your camp in Chiang Mai?
Teresa: Just after the Covid period, in 2021
Do you have any boxers who fight in Bangkok?
Teresa: Currently, we only have boxers who fight in Chiang Mai province. They aren’t quite at the level to compete in the big stadiums in Bangkok yet, but soon, for sure…
Which countries do your fighters generally come from?
Teresa: We have fighters from Germany, France, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, the United States, Japan, Thai, of course… From all over!
How many trainers do you have at your gym?
Sedthee: Including my wife and me, that makes seven trainers in total
