THE CAMP CARRYBOY

This small camp of Bangkok is one of the oldest of the capital, it exists for 40 years and is not very far from the zoo Dusit, in the center of Bangkok. He was created by Mr Thanin Pitithanasansombat who is the owner and the manager of the camp. Mr Pitithanasansombat is also a promoter in the stadium of Radja. The name of the camp ” Carryboy ” makes reference to a make of car which sponsors the camp for a long time…

 

 

This camp had in the past of the great champions such as Lonachai (Radja champion), Kay Souwit (Radja Champion), Panmonkong (Radja champion) and Adsawin (Radja champion). Another 10 years ago there were many fighters in the camp but today he is not more than a dozen to train here. There are not big champions anymore but any good fighters as Teeza Phaenter, Petsinin Carryboy, Yodcharnchai Carryboy and Darachai Carryboy. But it is Putpartnoi Carryboy who is at present one of the best boxer of the camp, he often fight in the stadium TV7.

 

 

The camp has a style of training at the same time ” Fimeuu” (technician) and “Toy Mat” (Strong in fist) because there are several professional fighters in Boxing. Taptideang (Champion PABA) and Yudchit (Radja Champion in Boxing) are both boxers the most experimented by the camp in Boxing. The boxers of the camp are often also going to train for Kiatyongyut Gym, a famous camp of Bangkok the speciality of which is the work of fists. Nakmuays fights essentially in the stadium of Radja, because the owner is very in position in this big stadium of Bangkok and it for several years…

 

 

The atmosphere in this camp is family, the house of the owner be an integral part of the camp, built in the former, it is the wooden house on piles that is really picturesque. The big family of master of places lives almost permanently with the boxers. The numerous children of the home have fun from morning till night in the camp, the boxing ring and the court of the camp are their daily playground…

 

 

The morning jogging is made in the agitated streets of Bangkok with a route about 12 km. The morning training is rather “light”, on the other hand that of him after noon is very hard because he at the beginning early at 2 pm to end at about 6:30 pm. Nakmuay makes a jogging of only 3 km to warm up. The session of clinch is not very long, it lasts only 30 minutes contrary to many camp where this session lasts one hour, to see more. But the rounds of paos here are of 5 minutes and in period of fight, the fighters make 7 – 8 each. The boxers make so every other day sparring steady, in Boxing, sparrings from 5 to 6 rounds. The training ends by a jogging of 3 km “recovery”, a light jogging, to avoid the muscular aches which often arrive after an extensive training…

 

 

Carryboy has three trainers who come from three main regions of the country, the first one is of Issan (northeast), the second of the center and the third of the South. They were formed in three different schools, it allows the boxers of the camp to receive a complete formation with several styles…

 

 

The foreigners are welcome in Carryboy Gym, the training is even free for them if they fight and bring good results to the camp. There were many English fighters who came in this camp because the first foreigners to come to train here, are Mick Mullaney and Paul Hamilton. These former two great English champions, fighters of the boxing rings of the 80s, came to Carryboy, there are already now around thirty year…

 

 

The foreign fighters can live in rooms cheap situated in only 100 meters of the camp. The district is quiet and in this small family camp you will be really well welcomed but attention the training is very hard in spite of the warm atmosphere…
