This camp is opened since five years and is situated to Nonthaburi, an adjoining city in the North of Bangkok. The name of the camp makes a reference to two camps, the Muang Khun Phaen who was created in 1986 by Somsak Sukwongsi (Khru Sak) and Phoenix Gym, a camp created by an Australian champion, Adem Yilmaz!
Khru Sak is a trainer since 43 years, this trainer in the style ” fimeuu ” (Technical) formed champions as Tampichit Sakwitthaya (Lumpinee Champion and Radja champion in 108 lbs), Akromchengrai Isarasakilin (Olympic Medal in the JO of 1992 in Boxing amateur), Sukleawood Penmuanglei (TV7 Champion), Sonarai Sakwitthaya (Lumpinee Champion and Radja Champion in 108 lbs), Photai Muangkoupen (Lumpinee Champion and Radja Champion in 140 lbs)!
Master Sak began has to study Muay Thai in the age of 15 years. At the age of 20, it was already recognized as being a very technical trainer!
This trainer was asked by many people, he gave lessons in many camps and coached the legends such as Pud Pad Noi, Put Laolek and Phayap Penchai who faced twice the Dutch star Rob Kaman!
When were been 25 years old, he hanging out his toque for a long term (13 years), in the camp Sakwithaya where he trained among others the champions Tampichit Sakwitthaya and Sonarai Sakwitthaya!
At the age of 39, he decided to open his own camp which was situated in front of the river Chaopraya, he named him the Muang Khun Phaen!
The name Muang Khun Phaen was suggested to him by a friend, Khun Phaen is a famous hero who comes from a classic novel of the Thai literature, he’s known to be a big warrior with angel’s face, mystic, native one of Suphan Buri as Khru Sak…
His camp was very small, the boxers slept on the boxing ring and often washed themselves in the river rather than in the only bath tub of the camp.
Khru Sak took care only of about twenty boxers. The technical level of his boxers was so much considered and dreaded that it often happened that certain trainers preferred to cancel the fights of their boxer in front of champions of Khru Sak!
After three years of activity, Khru Sak decided to close his camp and to withdraw from the world of Muay Thai because he thought of not having to win nothing more nor to prove. In only three years, he had formed several big names as Sukleawood Penmuanglei, Akromchengrai Isarasakilin and Photai Muangkoupen. Pothai which lost the title of Radja champion in 140 lbs in front of legendary Jomhod Kiatadisak when he had put KO some times previously, at his home to Phuket!

But ten years later, Khru Sak back on duty as trainer to the camp Vor Sakornrit in Bangkok.
It’s in this camp that Master Sak met Charlton Henri. Charlton had been contacted to re-form and take in hand a new team of professional boxer and take care of foreign boxers of the camp…
Charlton Henri is French native of Royan who lives in Thailand since ten years, he’s married with a Thai with whom he had a girl.
Charlton began his boxer’s career to Sisaket in the northeast of the Thailand. A friend presented him to master of Muay Thai who was called Arun Kunmana who was also an expert in Boxing, an art in which he formed in Cuba!
Arun Kunmana in at first train Charlton at the university of the sports of Sisaket then at his home. All in all, French which fought under the name of Koulap Deng Sor Kunmana is going to make 54 fights including 11 in Boxing, he going to fight almost everywhere, especially in Isaan, to Sisaket, Ubon, Buriram, Phayao, Pattaya and in Bangkok!

Charlton also trained in the camp Sanaree Gym in Korat and for the WKO to Pattaya with Nick Kara as trainer, Australian Nick Kara was a world champion and shot in the famous movie Ong Bak. He played the role of the giant Big Bear in one of the cult scenes of the fights underground boxing of the movie!
Charlton had to put an end to his career because of a problem in the right eye and the wounds in the right knee…
CHARLTON IN CAMP SANAREE GYM TO KORAT (NAKHON RATCHASSIMA)!
In 2012, with the rapper Scarafino, Charlton restored the camp Singhklongsi, a camp of great champion very known which is situated in the city of Lopburi. Charlton trained and coached the star of the camp, Luknimit (Radja Champion and World champion WMC) who in 2014 was ranked N° 1 in the stadium of Omnoi in 122 lbs. In October, 2014, Luknimit beat Prajanchay who was the champion of the Lumpinee in 118 lbs!
He also prepared Semapeth Chor Chaowalit (Champion of the tournament Tiger Ciment) and other Thai champions in Boxing…
CHARLTON IN SINGKLONGSI GYM!
In 2014, Charlton Henri joined the camp Vor Sakornrit in Bangkok as trainer, a luxurious camp where he stayed one year. Within this camp, he prepared for their fight several professional boxers who participated in world championships and big organizations such as the Thai Fight and the Max Muay Thai. The most known by these fighters, it’s the French champion Remy Vectol (World champion WBC, WPMF, WKE, WPKA, S1) who fought several times for the Vor Sakornrit!

One day, the sponsor of Charlton, “Raound Custom”, asked him if he was interested to take back a camp in the city of Nonthaburi, in suburb of Bangkok. This camp was called “Phoenix Gym” and was opened since five years. But the owner, Adem Yilmaz, could not take care any more full-time of his camp, he decided to entrust his premises for one person motivated..
Adem Yilmaz is an Australian of 36 years, a old fighter of the famous Phoenix Gym situated in Canberra in Australia. Yilmaz is installed in Thailand since 10 years, he trained and got ready alone, what did not prevent him from gaining a victory in the stadium of Ratchadamnoen, as well as in the Max Muay Thai, he made his last fight in 2012 in Australia Warrriors FC where he won his fight by KO in the second round!
Adem is the truth passionate of Muay Thai, he more fought by love of this sport than to earn money because he worked and had to take care of his family which has three children. He fought in the category of – 82 kg, he made 36 fights for 27 victories and 9 defeats, 5 fights in Australia and 31 fights in Thailand among which 3 fights in the stadium of Radja (2 victories, 1 defeat) and a fight to the Max Muay Thai (Victory)!

Charlton Henri jumped at the opportunity to become the manager of a camp, he obtained the authorization of Khru Sak to call the camp the Muang Khun Phaen, and in agreement with the owner, Adem Yilmaz, the camp is called from now on, “Muang Khun Phaen Phoenix Gym”, because each wanted to keep the name of their respective camp, by respect for their trainer and their master!
The Muang Khun Phaen Phoenix Gym has took shape since four months, the camp has many novice members who practise the fitness, consisted of women and children with in particular one tens of heavyweight.

But the camp also has a team of professional boxer, foreign boxers who have already fought in the Thai Fight, one of the biggest event of Muay Thai at present in Thailand. The fighters of the Muang Khun Phaen Phoenix Gym are Matthis Bernot, Maelle Pariez, Ramzi Nouainia and Lee-Roy Arcuri!
Matthis Bernot is the brother of Charlton, he’s a professional boxer in Boxing, with only some fights to his credit he has already faced two champions WBA and a champion of the Radja. Matthis is soon going to sign a contract with the great promoter Songchai Ratanasuban!

Maelle Pariez is a French girl boxer who trained for the famous Jean-Marie Merchet’s gym, High Voltage Gym (Haute Tension Gym), she’s a France champion professional with 40 fights for 28 victories, 10 defeats and 2 draws. Installed in Thailand since five months, she has link the fights by fighting six times in two months in the category of – 48 kg and – 54 kg. Hurt, she has took back the training in 200 % because she wants a title before the end of the year!

Khru Chai is native of Ubon Ratchathani, he was a boxer dreaded for his techniques of pokes, he beat by KO the champions such as Petcharat Sor Vorapin, Chengnen Sitpoottapin, Somranlek Sor Sumalee, Kongramkrong Sor Lanchai, Lomnao Thor Silatchai and many others!
Wichai had to stop his career because he did not accept went down for a fight in a big stadium of Bangkok. Then, he went back up on the boxing ring to face foreign fighters much heavier than him because he had a total trust in his techniques of pokes!
Khru Chai made 350 fights for about 300 wins including over a hundred by KO, he gained most of his KO thanks to his dangerous techniques of pokes!

Khru Chai is a trainer who lives and thinks the Muay Thai ” 24 hours a day, 7 days a week “. He train more by love of his sport that for the money, attached fundamentally to share the culture and the traditions of Muay Thai, he’s the perfect prototype of the trainer Issan (Northeast Region), It’s a hard trainer that knows perfectly the science of the boxing ring and the efficiency of techniques to be used. Khru Chai speaks English, a language which he has learnt simply to be able to teach his knowledge in boxer foreigners who wish to learn Muay Thai. He also formed Thai trainers and forced them to learn English so that they share their knowledge!
The trainings to the Muang Khun Phaen Phoenix Gym take place twice a day, from Monday to Saturday with a rest day or free training on Sundays. The trainings are for all the levels and address as well the beginners as the confirmed boxers.
The training is from 6 to 7 hours a day for the professional fighters but the program can change according to the project, the desire and the duration of the stay of the person. The boxers who wish to fight have the possibility of making fights in Thailand, following their level, in all the organizations and the stadiums of the country!
