THE RAJANONT CAMP

The Rajanont camp belongs to Mr Wichai Rajanont, a professional soldier who is major to the Royal Thai Air Force whose main base is at the old airport of Bangkok, Don Muang. Moreover, the camp is just next to the military base in the district of Saimaï in the North of Bangkok. Wichai was a great champion of Boxing before of created his camp, especially in Boxing because he gained the Bronze medal in the Games Olympic of Atlanta in 1996, he was in the same team as Somrak Sor Khamsing who had taken down to him the Golden medal!

Wichai ” Rajanont ” (King Happy) is a very known figure in the world of the Thai boxing. Because Mr Rajanont is an owner of a camp, organizer of fight and today he goes into politics in the side of legendary boxer Khaosai Galaxy…

 

 

His camp, Rajanont Gym, which opened in 2002 fast became one of the most importing of Bangkok. More of one around thirty professional boxers train in permanently under the guidance of by five trainers. 

Among the trainers there is Wanchai Suk Lim a former very good fighter and Kwanchai Chantanam who was World champion WMC. The camp obtained good results these last years with some champions from very high levels. It is thus unsurprisingly that in 2011, Rajanont Gym obtained the title from ” Best camp of the year “!

 


The first champions were Saylomaadii Rajanont who was a champion of Thailand and Singphetwitnoi Rajanont who has him to gain the belt of the stadium Omnoi then it was Inseekhao Rajanont who in 2005 was Omnoi Champion and TV7 in 108 lbs, Inseekhao is at present N° 6 of Radja and Omnoi stadium in 115 lbs!

Rajanont Gym has as very good fighters as Phetkangwan Rajanont in 113 lbs, Inzeelek Rajanont in 114 lbs, Wacharachai Rachanont in 135 lbs (N° 4 in Lumpinee and N° 5 in Omnoi stadium) a rangy boxer, very powerful who beat champions as Arunchai Pran26, Sensatarn Sor. Suradej, Singsuriya Mor. Ratanabandit, Parnphet Chor. Na Patalung, and finally Design Rajanont (N° 2 Omnoi and N° 5 TV7) who has just taken the belt of Thailand in 115 lbs to the titleholder Hongtonglek Chor. Fahpians!

But the star of the camp it is formidable F16 Rajanont!

 

F16 RAJANONT

 

His born name is Worawut Phakdipinit and his fighter’s nickname, F16, makes reference to a combat aircraft ” General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon “, a fighter of the Royal Thai Air Force.

 

 

F16 is also called “Khaophanlaan” (knees in dollars) because it is a strong fighter with the knees but also very hardly with his fists, a strong and powerful boxer. He beat champions such as Kongsak Sitboonmee, Nong O Kayangyadhao (twice), Tukatatong Phetphayatai, Traijak Sitjomtrai, Phettanong Phetfergus, Yodtuantong Petchyindeeacademy and Sittichai Sitsongpeenong!

 

 

In 2011 he gained the belt of Lumpinee in 130 lbs against Kongsak Sitboonmee and the belt of Thailand in 135 lbs against Aranchai Kiatpatarapan. F16 was so twice Golden medal in Boxing amateur in the Games International of the Youth in 2008 and in 2009!

 

 

The training in this camp begins at dawn, the boxers must be ready from 6 hours for their daily jogging, and attention to the one who drags feet to begin his jogging, it will undergo of severe remonstrance, it does not laugh in Rajanont…

 


Nakmuays cover 10 km for the morning jogging and 12 km for that of him after noon. The sessions of clinch are of 35 minutes, the morning and in the evening.

 

 

When in the rounds in paos, every round lasts 5 minutes. And generally the boxer in full preparation before fights make between 5 and 6 rounds in paos. With the “boss” the former Olympic champion in Boxing, techniques with fists are necessarily worked a lot, every day takes place a session of sparring in Boxing. But in Rajanont the trainers make work them boxers in several styles, it is a mixture of Muay Khao (knee), Muay Mat (fist) and Fimeuu (technician) who is taught in this camp…

 

 

The foreigners who trained in this camp are really rare, French Erik Renon (Europe Champion) stayed there several weeks and recently a German fighter stayed a few months in the camp.

 

 

At the beginning, Rajanont was not too much opened to “Farang” (foreign) but his boss has radically to change position, today he wish to receive foreigners in his camp. A building, not far from the camp, with fitted out rooms is reserved from now on for the foreigners who come to train for Rajanont.

 

 

The prices are 5200 bahts for week, 20800 bahts for month and 61000 bahts for three months, this price includes two daily trainings, the meals and the accommodation in a room with ventilator, rooms with air-conditioning are more expensive. The wife of Wichai Rajanont takes care with seriousness of the stay of the foreigners in the camp.

But to follow the training in this camp it is necessary to possess a level very high in Muay Thai, the beginners are not accepted as well as the party animals, in Rajanont it is training, training and training…
