BASIC TECHNICAL MUAY THAI WITH MASTER NIKIEMA

Stephane NIKIEMA is one of our biggest French champions, a formidable fighter who made history of Muay Thai.

Indeed, this exceptional champion, author of fight of anthology, pure nak Muay, fought during almost seventeen years worldwide. What was worth to him a lot of consideration on behalf of the boxers especially in Thailand where he’s enormously respected. It was nicknamed “DIESEL BLACK” by Thai, they attributed him this fighter’s name because of his size and of his technical control of the knocks of knees. And because his style looked like the famous champion of the 80s the mythical “DIESEL NOY”.

Stephane Nikiema beat the great Thai champions such as Sagat Petchyindee, Turbo Kietisak, Changpuek Kiatsongkrit (KO), Kengkrai Sor Vorapin (KO), Youssop Sor Thanikul (KO), Neungtrakan Por Muang Ubon, Lekmongkong Kietprasongchai, Prayuth and also the fighting dantesque in front of Somsong Noi (Two times), Krongsak Boranrat (Two times), Nokweed Devy, Dejpitak Sityodtong and Orono Por Muang Ubon.

In Europe, he faced the best of his time with memorable fights in front of Orlando Wiet (Win), Musafer Yamali (Win), Farid Rezzag (Win), Aurélien Duarte (Win), Moussa Sissoko (Draw), Perry Ubeda (Lose), Mourad Sari (Lose). He defeated by KO the champion Australian Paul Briggs and the German champion Mustapha Laksem!

It’s one of the rare foreigners who fought, in 1999, for the belt of Lumpinee. In the face of Neungtrakan Por Muang Ubon, Nikiéma was a victim of one of the biggest injustices of the history of Muay Thai. Because Nikiéma in this fight dominated the Thai. In the fourth rounds, Neungtrakan was at the edge of KO but the referee received the order to stop the fight. He had there neither loser, nor winner. Later, we shall learn that the Thai judges had opted “Lom Muay” for this fight, that is the Thai did not want to fight or would have been paid to lose. In fact, Neungtrakan was going to lose his fight and Thai found this excuse because they did not want to let take out the second belt of the country. French Mourad Sari had just taken away a belt of Lumpinee just before the fight of Stephane Nikiema…

Conclusion and advice of Master’s Nikiéma:

The main part it’s to work bases at the level of the passage of the hip, the leg extended, good rotate on tiptoe, the right body and the hands in protections. When we acquired the good bases of the techniques of Muay Thai it’s necessary to apply to the body movements, the distance, the blow of eye, the precision, the slipping and especially the work in clinch.
