Serge TREFEU: Hello Kaensak, and thank you for grant me this interview, how are you?

KAENSAK SOR PLOENCHIT: Hello, I am good thank you

How old are you?

I am 43 years old

What is that you are married?

I am married but divorced…

You have children?

I have two girls

You come of what region of the Thailand?

I am of Samut Prakarn, a city in 30 km from Bangkok

Do you have brothers and sisters?

Yes we are four brothers, I am the third boy of the family…

Your brothers fought?

We are all boxers, my brothers were boxers as me!

You were a brawler when you were a child?

Not at all…

You began the boxing at which age?

I began the boxing at the age of 9

In what age you have make your first fight?

In 10 years

How you discovered the boxing?

My father was a former boxer, he loved the boxing it’s him who taught me everything, he was my first trainer!

You began Muay Thai in which camp?

My first camp was the camp Taputhai to Samut Prakarn

Towards what age you were in Bangkok?

At the age of 15 I went to the camp Sor Ploenchit to Bangkok where I stayed approximately 15 years…

In what category you fought?

I fought at first in 112 lbs, then in 115 lbs, in 122 lbs and 135 lbs

Do you gained belts of the stadiums of Bangkok?

In 1989, I gained the belt of Lumpinee in 112 lbs against Pharuehaslek Sitchuntong and the belt of Radja in 112 lbs against Denhnue Denmolee!

How much have you make of fights, how much have you of victory and defeat?

I have make approximately 250 fights with more than 200 victories, approximately 40 defeats and 2 draws!

You had which style of boxing?

My fighter’s style was rather technical, an intelligent boxing, I was not a ” fighter who moves forward “…

KAENSAK WAS VERY STRONG WITH HIS FISTS, HE MADE SEVERAL FIGHTS IN BOXING AMONG WHICH TWO PROFESSIONAL FIGHTS IN 1996 AND 1997 WITH A VICTORY BY KO AND A DEFEAT IN POINTS!

What was your hardest fight?

My hardest fight was against Samad Sor Lukidia, I faced him four times and I never have to win in front of him…

Your best memory of boxing?

My best memory of my career is my fight against Taweesaklek Ploysakdaa, a big fight which I gain!

There was a lot, Neungubon (Victory), Karuhat (1 victory, 3 defeats), Hansuk (Defeat), Lamnamoon (2 victories, 1 draw), Jaroensap (1 victory, 1 defeat), Silapathai (Defeat), Wangchannoi (Defeat), Langsuan (1 victory, 1 draw), Thaweesaklek (Victory, Pharuehaslek (Victory), Vicharn (Victory)…

THREE MEETINGS ENTERED LEGENDARY LAMNAMOON SOR SUMALEE AND KAENSAK SOR PLOENCHIT WAS ALWAYS TITANIC MATCHES!

KAENSAK AND KARUHAT WAS FOUR TIMES IN CONFRONTATION AND BECAME GREAT FRIENDS!

You have already fought abroad?

In 1997 I retired of fighter in Thailand and I fought then several times in the United States

You lived in the United States now?

Yes I left settling down in the United States in 2000

You know French boxers?

I know Chong Skarbowsky!

What is according to you the best foreign fighter in Muay Thai, before and today?
For me the best foreign fighter in Thailand was Ramon Dekkers (RIP)!

And the best Thai fighter today, it’s who for you?

Today it’s Seanchai, it’s the Top at present!

You made well your living thanks to Muay Thai?

Yes I gained a lot of money with the boxing!

What was your promoter when you fought?

My promoter was Songchai Ratanasuban

You gained good purses in the time?

I gained very good purses, my biggest purses was 380 000 bahts!

After your boxer’s career what you have make?

I am now a trainer in a club in the United States, in the AMA Fight Club, but I hope to open my gym one day in the United States!

Kaensak belong to the legends of Muay Thai, stemming from boxer’s family in the soul, he begins very early the boxing and makes his first fight important in the Samrong stadium to Samut Prakarn. Kaensak then is going to fight quickly often in the big stadiums of Bangkok and is only 18 years old he becomes a champion in two bigger stadiums of capital, Lumpinee and Radja!

Boxer had a very effective boxing which perturbed his opponents with combination of blows feet and fists of one phenomenal speeds, he beat great champions such as Neungubon Sitlerchai, Karuhat Sor Palangchai, Lamnamoon Sor Sumalee, Jaroensap Kietbanchong, Langsuan Panyuthaphum, Thaweesaklek Ploysakdaa, Vicharn Sitchuenchon, Pharuehaslek Sitchuntong!
Kaensak is one of the rare fighters to have twice been elected ” Best boxer of the year ” by prestigious institution ” The Sport Writers Association of Thailand “, in 1989 and in 1990!

ON 1990, KAENSAK RECEIVES FOR THE SECOND TIME THE PRIZE OF THE BEST BOXER OF THE YEAR AFTER WON THE PRECIOUS TROPHY IN 1989, KAENSAK IS TOGETHER WITH THE MONUMENT OF THE BOXING IN THAILAND, KHAOSAÏ GALAXY!

At the beginning of 2000s, Kaensak left making a second career in the United States where he gained two world champion’s belts in federations WCK and IKKC, belts that he won at the age of 36 and 37 years!

WORLD CHAMPION IKKC IN 2008!

In 2007, in the United States, he also fought against the big French champion Fabio Pinca for the belt WBC Intercontinental, Kaensak lost in points…
Today, Kaensak is an instructor of Muay Thai in one of the most famous club of the United States, the AMA Fight Club to Whippany in New Jersey.

In the United States, Kaensak became a figure in the world of Muay Thai in the same way as legendary Matee Jedeepitak, Saekson Janjira and Coban Lookchaomaesaitong who are also installed for a long time in the United States!
