Special report by Serge TREFEU (2014)

The boxing in Thailand is really an affair of family, many fighters have to begin their learning thanks to their father or to their brother. In the families which count several boxers, it’s often the older brother who introduced the youngest, the elder brother is the reference, it’s him who is going to give the taste of the sport to his younger brothers…

The great champions such as Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai (Double Lumpinee champion, ” Best fighter of year 1993 “), Chamophet Ha Phalang (4 times Lumpinee champion, 5 times Radja), Sagat Petchyindee (3 times Lumpinee champion, 3 times Radja champion, World champion) and Fasuchon Sit O (Lumpinee Champion, 3 times Thailand champion, ” Betst fighter of year 2000 “) each was formed by their older brother who taught them the rudiments of the boxing!

Most of the boxers who increased with brothers fighters don’t become big champions but sometimes some stand out and become legends of boxing rings…

The brothers the most famous boxers in Thailand are certainly both brothers Samart and Kongtoranee Payakaroon.
