The Phetcharoenwit Gym is a small authentic boxing gym located in the village of Chiang Yuen in the province of Maha Sarakham, it is located in the heart of the Isaan region, on the ancestral lands of the warriors of Muay Thai.

Open for about ten years, the gym belongs to the Lieutenant General of Police, Major Charoenwit Srinwich, a senior official of the province of Mukdahan who is a great lover of boxing.

The manager and head coach of Phetcharoenwit Gym is a former star of the 1990s rings named Malaithong Saktewan. Malaithong grew up in Buriram province in the Northeast region. In his great time, he was a formidable boxer, very technical, he was nicknamed «Nakha Jaak Taphraya» (The Assassin of Taphraya, in reference to the Taphraya National Park). Malaithong Saktewan beat the best of his generation such as Ramba Somdet, Samson Isaan, Klaywanoi Sitkhrunoi, Jaruwat Menwood and won the famous Isuzu tournament in 1994!

The gym has a dozen fighters, five of whom are at a very high level. The two stars of Phetcharoenwit Gym are Phetmalai and Kumandoy.

Phetmalai is 18 years old, he is the current TV7 stadium champion in 102 lbs, a belt he won on September 8, 2019 against the young star Ployrungpetch Saimoolsnookerclub (Lumpinee champion, TV7 champion).

Formed at the Phetcharoenwit Gym, Phetmalai is the young champion who up into the small categories. In 2019, he defeated Ployrungpetch, Phon Parunchaï (Current Lumpinee champion in 105 lbs), Sriphet Sitnumnoi (N°2 TV7) (KO) and Kompayak Kamnunjirawat!

PHETMALAI PHETCHAROENWIT IS THE TITLE CHAMPION OF STADIUM TV7 IN 102 LBS

Kumandoy is 26 years old, he comes from the city of Chiangrai in the northern region. Before joining the Phetcharoenwit Gym, Kumandoy fought for several years for two small gyms located on the island of Koh Samui, the first was the Sor Jitpakdee and the second was the Talingngam Gym. In 2014, with the Talingngam Gym, he won the Omnoi stadium belt in 112 lbs by beating Oley Sitniwat. The year before, Kumandoy had fought for the Radja belt in 105 lbs and was down to points against Sanchai Tor Laksong.

This strong boxer, powerful with his fists, today receives a good purse which raises to 80,000 baht. He is currently ranked N°1 at Radja Stadium in 118 lbs.

On December 13, 2018 at Radja Stadium, he beat Kumanngoen Jitmuangnon (Current Omnoi Champion) in points and won the WBC World Champion belt in 122 lbs!

Kumandoy made his last fight in March 2020 against the current 118 lbs Radja champion, Saotho Sitchefboontham, who he beat in points.

In 2019, he won 7 fights out of 8 clashes, he beat at points Peunkol Tor Surat (Radja Champion) (2 wins, 1 lose), also Dieselek Wor Wanchaï, Hercules Phetisimuu (Lumpinee Champion, Radja Champion), Phetsuphan Por Daorungrueang (Radja Champion) (KO), Pornpithak Pitakkhan (Winner of the Lumpinee Tournament) (KO) and Kongmueangtrang Kaewsamrit!

The gym also includes champion Yodmalai and two very good fighters who were well ranked at the Lumpinee stadium, Phetchet who is 21 years old, he fights in the 108 lbs category, as well as Phetsakda who is 20 years old and fights in 130 lbs. They are from Maha Sarakham, They are also pure products of the Phetcharoenwit Gym, they were formed by the camp from the age of 13. But Phetchet and Phetsakda haven’t fought in a little over one year…

Yodmalai is 19 years old. This wonder boy, at 17 years old, won the belt of the Blue Arena stadium in 105 lbs, on July 8, 2018 he beat by KO Yodsankeng Jor Nopparat. The Blue Arena stadium is a small and increasingly popular stadium located in Samut Prakan (30 km from Bangkok).

Yodmalai is the own son of Malaithong’s Head Coach, Yodmalai walks in the footsteps of his father’s glorious career!
