THE CAMP KIATKORWIT

This small camp of the South is situated on the island of Koh Samui to Mae Nam beach, it’s in 200 m of the beach. It’s one of last “typical” camp of the famous tourist island. Kiatkorwit was created in 1996 by Wittaya Sripaye, a former professional champion. The name of the camp thus makes a reference in the name of the owner Wittaya, ” Kiatkor ” (Respect) to “Wit”!

The camp is also called Wittaya Muay Thai Gym. Wittaya Sripaye made a long strong career of about 300 fights among which many in the stadiums of Bangkok. And he gained champion’s belt of the South of the Thailand!

The champions who made the beautiful days of Kiatkorwit are Nunakorn and Theerapong. Theerapong Sitkorayuth was a formidable fighter who beat in particular in 1997, in Lumpinee, the great Dutch champion Ramon Dekkers as well as legendary Jaroenthong Kiatbanchong. Theerapong and Jaroenthong made a memorable fight in Lumpinee. During this match, Theerapong was almost stopped on injury to the face but he finally beat Jaroenthong by KO. Theerapong gained world champion WMC’s belt!

And today, at the age of 37, he continuous still to fight, often in the stadiums of Koh Samui. But sometimes in big internationals events as in May, 2014, in the show Evolution 27 in Malaysia, where he beat the Australian champion Bruce MacFie (World champion WMC, WKA, WKBF) by KO in the 1st round with a high kick magnificent!

THE BOXERS OF KIATKORWIT OFTEN FIGHTS TO THE FAMOUS STADIUM OF KOH SAMUI LOCATED IN CHAWENG BEACH!

The boxers who represent now the Kiatkorwit are Slatan, Nontachai, Yodpolice, Rotlek, Rungsiam, Vuttidet, Khamlayok and French Malik Aliane!

Slatan and Rungsiam both have won a World title belt WMC and Rotlek has won him a World title belt WPMF !

SLATAN KIATKORWIT AND RUNGSIAM KIATKORWIT!

When Malik Aliane he won the World title belt WPMF in 2014 in Bangkok, and in 2013 two belts European champion in two different federations, the WBC and WPMF!

Aliane fight under the name of Malik Kiatkorwit because he trains and fights for the camp Kiatkorwit since 2010. Malik is one of the French champions who have chosen into exile in Thailand to make their professional boxing career. Today, he represents brilliantly the colors of Kiatkorwit!

MALIK ALIANE FIGHT FOR THE KIATKORWIT SINCE SEVERAL YEARS!

But the first foreigner to have fought for the camp Kiatkorwit was the champion Nash Ular, a adventurer who boxed rings around Thailand!

Boxers of the camp have rather focused style on Boxing and low-kick, some are even big punchers!

Fighters Kiatkorwit fights for several promoters in Thailand and abroad but mainly for Nipon Vichaidet and Jartui (Saengmorakot Promotion)!

Also, boxers Kiatkorwit are open to any proposals of fights in France or Europe and this in various weighty categories…

Here, the trainings are varied and arranged in the styles of the boxers as well as in their objectives. Four trainers of the Kiatkorwit adapt the style of training according to the capacities of each whether it’s for the professionals or for the amateurs…

THE TRAINERS OF KIATKORWIT!

The fighters make to the everyday life a 10 km jogging in the morning and of 5 km in the afternoon. The lesson in paos and in punch bag is about one o’clock. When in the traditional session of clinch she lasts 40 minutes!

It has been only three years that farangs (Foreigners) have access to the camp which was mainly reserved previously for Thai.

Now, there are even girls who train in Kiatkorwit. Regularly, big sessions are organized with groups of around thirty girls!

The Kiatkorwit thus now his doors wide open to welcome the foreigners who wish to train hard or simply to let off steam in leisure activities…

Prices are 400 bahts for a training and of 1000 bahts one hour for a session with a personal coach. The price is 15 000 bahts for month with two trainings a day and of 8000 baths with only the evening training.

Kiatkorwit has no room to receive the foreigners but there are many bungalow and hotels cheap close by the camp…
