Particular Sign: Pongsiri Por Ruamruedee of his real name “Phayboun Ladnongkhi” was trained at Charoenmuang camp which was located on Charoen Muang Road in Bangkok. A camp that changed address several times to finish at Soi Ruamruedee near Lumpinee. This camp included great champions like Saknoi Charoenmuang (Radja Champion), Weeranoi Charoenmuang, Sompong Charoenmuang, Thongbai Charoenmuang, Choochai “Rambong” Kiatchartsingh.
Pongsiri was nicknamed “Rambo” because he had a very aggressive boxing style such as a mercenary soldier storming the ring. Pongsiri was a steamroller, a tank that was constantly advancing on his opponents. “Rambo” was a terror at the time in the category of 112 lbs and 115 lbs, many fighters feared him, Pongsiri went into the ring with a pirate flag to scare his opponents, a black flag with a head of white death, skull which he also wore on his Length boxing robe and his shorts.
Pongsiri Por Ruamruedee has never won a belt of the big stadiums of Bangkok but he was long N° 1 of Lumpinee by facing all the tenors of his category.
His hardest match was against Pairojnoi Sor Siamchay. Pongsiri and Pairojnoi have always done anthologies fights, his two “Muay Bouk” (Fighter in advance) have fought three times. In 1988, Pongsiri and Pairojnoi made a draw, then, Pongsiri beat Pairojnoi, the year after Pairojnoi took his revenge by points.
On November 4, 1988, in the stadium of Lumpinee, the revenge for fighting between Pongsiri and Pairojnoi reached the record sum of 3 million baht, a first in the history of Muay Thai.
Pairojnoi and «Rambo» fought madness, a match in which the two fighters went to the end of themselves, opened both to faces, bloodied, each almost stopped on injury. But they fought until the last minute of the fifth round, and Pongsiri won the fight at the points. The two fighters ended up exhausted at the hospital.
This hallucinating match was voted “best fight of the year” and named as the toughest fight of its last twenty years, the “match of the century”.
Pongsiri has also defeated foreign champions such as the formidable Dutch Michael Lieuwfat and the great French champions Jaid Seddak and Khaled Hebieb.
Pongsiri stopped his career quite early, at the age of 25, because after almost every battle he was wounded and often ended up in hospital, he underwent important operations, especially to the ears. Pongsiri has made too many hard fights that have unfortunately marked him physically.
When he ended his career he reconverted into a singer, he sang for a while Folk songs in the provinces of the country. But he continued to train at Muay Thai and spent some time coaching at Muaythai Plaza gym in Bangkok.

Sign Particular: Samransak was rather a great champion of the 80’s. But this old ring lion was still present in the early ’90s.
Samransak of his real name Ran Kijram is considered by many specialists as one of the biggest punchers in the history of Muay Thai. His nickname was “Ay Matsaklek” because he had phenomenal power in his fists.
He was also a formidable “Muay Tone” (Durable boxer) who has always made terrible battles against the many opponents he faced.
Samransak represented his camp, the famous Muangsurin Gym, with honour for years. A camp in the Laksi district of Bangkok. The Muangsurin camp was founded by Khru Amornrat Rakwanich who died in 1981, it was his son Mr Apirak Rakvanich who then took over the camp.
This famous camp was famous for the work of the fists because it produced great champions in Boxing such as the legendary Saensak Muangsurin who was World Champion WBC at 25 years after only three professional fights, as well as Prayonsak Muangsurin (World Champion OPBF), Tongta Kietwayupha and Jong Satiyengym.
Samransak Muangsurin made a remarkable career up to 33 years, he made about 120 fights for 90 victories of which fifty won by KO.
On May 6, 1986, Samransak met the powerful Saengsakda Kitikasem who knocked him out in the 2nd round, this is one of the few defeats of Samransak by KO.
On June 13, in Lumpinee, Samransak and Saengsakda made the rematch with the addition of the Lumpinee belt in 126 lbs in game held by Saengsakda. The two champions made a crazy match that will be voted “Best Fight of the Year 1986”. In this titanic duel, Samransak won by KO in the fifth round and won the Lumpinee belt in 126 lbs.
On September 9, in Lumpinee, they found themselves for a third confrontation. In the first round, puncher Samransak won a dazzling right that put KO Saengsakda.
On 29 April 1988, at the Lumpinee stadium, Samransak faced Chanchai Sor Tamrangsi. Chanchai was then the defending Lumpinee champion in 126 lbs. Samransak defeated the Chanchai technician and took his belt from Lumpinee, Samransak won a Lumpinee belt again in 126 lbs.
Samransak faced the legendary Kongtoranee Payakaroon in titanic matches, Samransak twice beat Kongtoranee, Kongtoranee beat him once and they drew a draw.
Samransak also faced four times the star of the 80s, Samart Payakaroon. But Samransak was never able to defeat Samart Payakaroon. Samransak also lost twice by KO against the puncher Coban Lookchaomaesaitong.

Particular sign: Samson of his real name Somboon Pantasai fought under the name of Seanmuangnoï Lukjaopomehksak. Samson came from a very poor family, his parents were farmers, they raised cows in a small village in the region of Roi Et. And after his career, thanks to the important purses of his Boxing championships Samson became rich, he owned several houses in Bangkok, luxury cars and a restaurant in Roi Et.
Samson won the Lumpinee belt in 118 lbs against Seanklay Sitkhruot, who was that he shot down by knockout on 29 November 1991 at the Lumpinee stadium.
Samson was an extraordinary puncher who knocked down champions such as Keawmorakot Praynan, Jaroensak Kietnakhonechon, Pepsi Piyakphan, Klanwannoy Sitkhruot, and he was one of the few to defeat the great champion Veeraphol Sahaprom in 1991 at the Lumpinee stadium.
Samson also won the Radja belt in 115 lbs against the puncher Lakhin Wassantasit in 1992.
Samson has always made big wars in the ring, his fight against the mighty Deduang Por Pongsawang is one of the toughest matches of the year 1993.
Samson had a great career in Boxing, his name as Boxing fighter was Samson Dutch Boy Gym, he was undefeated in Boxing with 43 professional fights including 36 won by KO. Samson won the WBF World title in 1994 and he defended it 38 times, no one has succeeded to dethroned Roi Et’s bull.
Samson Isaan was voted “Best Boxer of the Year” in 1991 by the prestigious institution “The Sport Writers Association of Thailand”.

Particular Sign: His fighter name Sangtiennoi means “The flame that shines”. His real name is Pongprasert. He started at age 13 at Lukbaanadi camp near his home, then at Sitsurapong camp.
At the age of 18, he left in the suburbs of Bangkok at Nonthaburi in Lukmingkwan camp. Sangtiennoi was a “Muay Bouk”, a fighter who went on all the time, he was taking the shots and walked in front of his opponents without going back, he was an outstanding durable boxer.
Sangtiennoi was nicknamed “The Deadly Kisser” because he kissed his opponents on the forehead or on the cheek, which was a way of scoring his victory.
Sangtiennoi made 200 fights with 150 wins and 50 losses. In the stadium of Lumpinee, he made 50 fights and even more in the stadium of Radjadamnern, 80 fights.
At 20, he won the Radjadamnern belt in – 59 Kg against Jack Kiatniwat. Ten years later, he won the Lumpinee belt in – 61 Kg against Keng Singnakonkuay. He also won a WMC World Champion Belt in – 65 Kg in Australia.
Sangtiennoi is one of the legends of Muay Thai because of his long career and his bravery in fight.
During the top of his career, he was among those who received the biggest purses on the circuit with sums far exceeding of 200,000 baths.
Sangtiennoi also beat great foreign champions of the 90s like the Dutch Ramon Dekkers (2 victories, 1 defeat) and Hassan Kassrioui as well as the Frenchman Dany Bill (1 victory, 1 defeat).
Today, he has his own camp at Pathumthani, the Sangtiennoi Gym. He coaches his own son, Moses Sangtiennoi who has also become a great champion. As the star Thanonchai Thor Sangtiennoi and many other fighters.

Sign Particular: Silapathai started boxing very early, he made his first fight at 10 years for the camp Sit Poonsak located in Udon Thani. At the age of 12, he joined the famous camp Jocky Gym of Bangkok, Silapathai made his all career for this mythical camp which included champions such as Chadet, Somrak, Robert, Rolek, Wangvisep, Patong.
Nicknamed « Jomsoklap » (The poke back fatal), a nickname given to 17 years old when he beat by KO with a poke back in 1991 at the Radja Stadium, the Radja champion Komson Saknarin.
Silapathai was also called «Jomtip 116 nat» (The front kick at 116 strokes) because he controlled this technique wonderfully. Silapathai is considered one of the greatest technicians of his generation. Khru Pipa, the head coach of the Jocky Gym said of Silapathai that he was for him the best boxer of the Jocky Gym so far.
Silapathai won his first title of Radja in 1991 against Namkabuan Ratchapeutkafe, the belt in 108 lbs. On April 27, 1994, in the stadium of Radja, he won the Radja belt in 122 lbs against the legendary champions Chamophet Ha Phalang.
Silapathai made 190 fights for 160 wins, 27 losses and 3 draws. He fought mainly in the stadium of Radja where he made 60 fights. As well as 6 matches in the Lumpinee stadium and 6 matches in the stadium of Omnoi.
Silapathai is now a coach at Jocky Gym, a camp that was bought by former French ring legend Jean-Charles Skarbowsky who has represented this camp for several years. The camp is called today, the « Skarbowsky Gym ».

Sign Special: Formed by his father, a former boxer, Somrak comes from a boxer’s family. His big brother Somrot Khamsing (Pimalan Leksitalat) was a great champion who was among the best in his category in Muay Thai and Boxing. He was Asia Champion and Quarter Finalist at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
Somrak made his first fight at the age of 7, he trained at Sor Kingstar gym in Khon Kaen, a camp that later formed the legend Saenchai. At the age of 11, Somrak joined the Sit Aran gym in Bangkok, a camp that trained champions such as Soming, Pimthong, Tamrawee, Jocky Sitkanpai. His fighter name was Pimaranlek Sit Aran, it’s only later that he will take the fighter name of Somrak Khamsing when he fights in Boxing. Then Somrak represented the famous camp Jocky Gym for several years and ended up at Kietpetch gym, the camp of the Lumpinee Promoter Chun Kietpetch.
Somrak remained for a long time No. 1 in 126 lbs in the stadium of Lumpinee and Radja but never had the opportunity to fight for a belt of one of these prestigious stadiums. Yet, he beat practically every great champion of the time.
Somrak Khamsing (Sometimes called Somluck Khamsing) is a true legend living in Thailand. His record is phenomenal in both Muay Thai and Boxing with 300 fights in Muay Thai and 200 fights in Boxing. His Muay Thai techniques were spectacular, sometimes close to the Muay Boran.
In Boxing, he’s the first Thai boxer to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games. Like the great champion Samart Payakaroon, Somrak has also tried cinema and song making him even more famous in his country.
Somrak set up his own camp in the Bangkapi district, Somrak Gym (Thor Thepsuthin Gym).

Particular Sign: Superlek trained and fought for the famous Sor Sumalee camp in Ubon Ratchathani, a camp in which he remained until the end of his career. In this camp, there were also the great champions Lamnamoon, Deachkalon, Panomrunglek and Jompoblek.
His fighting style was “Muaymat” (Strong in Fist), nicknamed « Aymat Rimot » (The correct punch), Superlek was a terrible striker with murderous low kicks, he destroyed many opponents with his fists and low kicks of lumberjack.
Superlek beat great champion Cherry Sor Wanich twice by KO, once in the second round and once in the fifth round.
Superlek has met three times the Dutch terror Ramon Dekkers with two wins and one defeats, defeat at Lumpinee in 1990, victories at Lumpinee in 1991 and 1994. It’s against Ramon Dekkers that Superlek won the biggest purse of his career which was to 250 000 baht.
Superlek also beat on King’s Birthday the great French champion Manu N’toh.
This great champion unfortunately died in 2013 due to blood poisoning (Septicemia).
The son of Superlek has become a champion who fights today in the biggest stadiums of Bangkok, he’s 26 years old and is called Padsaenlek Rachanon, he trains and fights for the famous camp Rachanon Gym.

Particular Sign: Thedkiet of his real name Somkid Crearone was a superb Fimeuu (Technician) who delighted the punters for his tactical and technical battles. Thedkiet had many fighter nicknames but the one that best suited him was « Rachanheang Lumpinee » (The King of Lumpinee).
Thedkiet was formed at the famous camp Nong Kee Pahuyuth, the camp of Master Pramote Haymook. The Namkabuan, Nampon and Hansuk Champions’ Camp. And although Thedkiet was training with his comrade Namkabuan, a rare thing, the two champions of the same camp clashed at the Lumpinee stadium with a victory at the points of Namkabuan. A match in which Namkabuan was badly opened at the front.
Thedkiet won the Lumpinee belt in 122 lbs on November 7, 1989 against great Champion Superlek Sor Isaan.
Then, Thedkiet beat another 90’s champion for the Lumpinee championship belt in 126 lbs. On March 23, 1990, he defeated Phetdam Lukborai. Thedkiet defended his belt victoriously against the star of the 90s, Oley Kiatoneway. Thedkiet kept his good for several years, he lost his title against the champion Mathee Jaydeepitak.

Particular Sign: Veeraphol of his real name Thiraphon Samranklang was born in the region of Nakhon Ratchassima but he grew up in Kaeng Khoi in the province of Saraburi (Central Region).

Veeraphol, who had cleaned up in his category in Muay Thai, turned to Boxing where he made an exceptional career with 72 professional fights for 66 victories including 46 by KO, 4 defeats and 2 draws. He won the World Champion belt in two federations the WBC and the WBA.
Veeraphol is one of the few boxers to beat by KO the bull Samson Isaan in 1993 in the stadium of Lumpinee.
Veerapol has opened a restaurant in Chaiyaphum in the Northeast region, the establishment is called “Raan Champ Lok” (The restaurant of the world champion).

Sign Individual: His real name is Arporn Sophap, Arporn’s parents gave birth to four children, four boys whose Wangchannoi was the youngest of the family. The little one, Arpon, was the most scabby of the brothers, at school he often fought. So, one of his big brothers who practiced boxing taught him the Art of Muay Thai to channel his aggressiveness.
At the age of 10 years old, he had his first fight under the control of his big brother, who will be his coach for several years.
The young Wangchannoi was soon spotted by one of the biggest promoters of the moment, Songchai Ratanasuban. Songchai brought him to the Bangkok region at the age of 15 and took him into his already well lined championship team.
But Wangchannoi is an unstable boxer, he couldn’t stay long in a training boxing camp. During his long career, Wangchannoi was a little of a wanderer in the Muay Thai camps, going first to camp Dechrat, then to the famous camp Muangsurin, then to camp Kietsingnoi, Kietbanchong and Sor Khet Talingchan, and finally to camp Sitchang.
Wangchannoi won the Lumpinee belt in 108 lbs against the formidable Nampon Nong Kee Pahuyuth.
Then, in 122 lbs, he won the Lumpinee belt against Superlek Sor Isaan, this title he also won against Panomtuanlek Ha Phalang, Karuhat Sor Supawan and Chatchai Payseethong.
Wangchannoi has made 300 fights in his career with 267 wins including over 40 won by KO, 30 defeats and 3 draws.
His hardest fight, he faced the living legend of rings, Samart Payakaroon. A difficult fight for Wangchannoi because Samart’s superb tip (Front kick) was very embarrassing, and Wangchannoi was smaller than his opponent. But Wangchannoi managed to defeat King Samart, who was doing his last fight on the Thai rings, on May 10, 1989, at the Lumpinee stadium.
Wangchannoi is one of the few boxers who beat the star of the 80s, Samart Payakaroon. For his fight against Samart, Wangchannoi received a purse of 260,000 baht.
Wangchannoi was a terror of rings in the 90s, this great fighter possessed the lightning in his fists. But he was also very good with his knees, his low kick and his pokes, he was a complete boxer, an incredible puncher.
Wangchannoi was nicknamed « Wonderman » by the aficionados of Muay Thai. But Muay Thai fans in Thailand had mostly nicknamed him « Aymat 33 Wee » (The punch bursting in 33 seconds). For Wangchannoi has “turned off the light” to many of his adversaries. This nickname was given to him after his memorable battle with legendary Namkabuan Nong Kee Pahuyuth. Wangchannoi knocked down Namkabuan in the first round in 33 seconds with a terrible left uppercut to the jaw.
The two champions found themselves for revenge and after a hard fight Wangchannoi beat Namkabuan again but at points.
Wangchannoi has always fought violently, gamblers loved his powerful and offensive style, he has done many fights with important dumpans like against the great champion Oley Kiatoneway where the dumpan in game was a million baht, dumpan won by the team of Wangchannoi.
In 1993, Wangchannoi was voted “Best Boxer of the Year” by “The Sports Writers Association of Thailand”.
Today, Wangchannoi became a coach. He also opened a butchery with his wife in the North East region of Maha Sarakham, where he now lives.
