The great champion Jean-Charles Skarbowsky, having to create his gym in Paris the Skarbowsky Gym, now went up his camp of Muay Thai in Thailand to Bangkok.

The Skarbowsky Gym opened its doors to the public in February, 2016. Many personalities of the world of the Thai boxing came assisted the inauguration of Jean-Charles Skarbowsky’s camp, such as the champions Karuhat, Chaowarit, the owner of the camp Sitsongpeenong Timothy Dhamajiva, the journalist Rob Cox, the star presenter Matthew Deane, the Pinto brothers, Antuan and Victor, the legend Rob Kaman, the great champion Stephane Nikiema, the founder of the Derek Boxing René Desjardins, the director of the stadium of the Ratchadamnoen Mr. Prai Panyalakshana, the former champion Skarbowsky is always estimated and respected in the Kingdom of the Siam.

Jean-Charles Skarbowsky took back the old famous Jocky Gym camp and completely renovated it. This prestigious camp had been created in 1974 by Somat Hong Sakoun, one of the biggest technicians of Muay Thai of the 60s in Thailand. Numerous champions went out of this camp which was one of the biggest of Bangkok, there were permanently about forty boxers who trained for Jocky Gym. We consider not less than 27 belts (Lumpinee and Radja) gathered in by the champions of this famous camp!

The most known champions who made the beautiful days of Jocky Gym are Somrak Kamsing, Saenchaï Sor Kingstar, Lerdsila Chumpairtour, Kaoklaï Kaennorasing, Silapathai Jockygym, Robert Kaennorasing, Rolek Kaeonnorasing, Wangvisep Kaeonnorasing, Chaowarit Jockygym, Yotchaï Kaennorasing, Sonkom Jockygym and Patong Jockygym.

Now the camp is called ” Skarbowsky Gym ” and although it’s not filled with champions like it’s heyday, the soul of the legendary champions still looms in this mythical place…

After the years 2010s, there was virtually no boxers in Jocky Gym and camp infrastructure was beginning to wither. The camp owner Mr. Somat Hong Sakoun decided to sell his camp but not to anyone, it’s ” Chong ” Skarbowsky who had the honor to redeem this camp. Because Jean-Charles Skarbowsky was the last major foreign champion successfully represent the Jocky Gym, he fought for this camp from on 2001 to on 2006.

Jean-Charles Skarbowsky was a terrible warrior, a formidable puncher, his fights in Thailand have so marked the spirits that he became as famous as the legendary Dutch Ramon Dekkers. Jean-Charles Skarbowsky beat the great Thai champions as Duan E-San, Weera Chalunlape, Robert Kaennorasing (KO), Kaoponglek Luksuratam (KO), Orono Por Muang Ubon (KO), Rambo Two, Chokdee Por Pramuk (KO), Nonthanon Por Pramuk (KO), Khunsuk Petchsupapan, Suriya Sor Pleonchit, Mangkong Kietsomkoum (KO), Lamsongkram Chuwattana (KO) and foreign champions such as Mohamed Yamani, Yiguin Osman, Kamel Mayouf, Kader Marouf, Chris Van Venrooij, Paolo Balicha.

Nicknamed “Chong” by the Thais, he was one of the first foreigners must to be classified N° 1 in the stadium of Ratchadamnoen of Bangkok. This exceptional warrior also was one of the rare foreigners to the world to fight in the stadium Lumpinee in “Main Fight”.

The Skarbowsky Gym possesses excellent Thai trainers with Pipa, Silapathai and Vihok. And a former professional fighter, a Canadian Gabriel Rossi who speaks French as well as English. Gabriel Rossi takes care of the welcome of the foreigners within the camp.

PIPA AND SILAPATHAI TWO MASTERS OF MUAY THAI

Pipa made 153 fights for 110 victories and gained champion’s belt of the Isaan in 1981. Pipa was the chief trainer of the Joky Gym during almost 20 years, it’s one of the best trainers of Thailand. He formed most of the champions of the Jocky Gym such as Saenchai, Leudsila, Kaoklai, Chaowarit, Sonkom, Rolek, Somrak, Robert and Silapathai. Pipa for his age possess an exceptional physical condition, furthermore he’s endowed with a flexibility deserving of master Yogi!

KHRU PIPA

Silapathai Jockygym was one of the biggest champions of the Radja of the 90s. He made 190 fights for 160 victories, 27 defeats, 3 draws and gained the belt of the stadium of Radja – 56 kg in 1992, 1993 and 1994. Pipa, the chief trainer of the Jocky Gym says of Silapathai that he was for him the best boxer of the Jocky Gym. Silapathai is considered as one of the biggest boxers of his generation, it was an exceptional technician. It’s one of the rare champions to have beaten by KO the star Boonlay Sor Thanikul, he also overcame immense champions such as Kaensak Sor Ploenchit, Lakhin Sitwansantasi, Komkiat Sor Thanikul, Jaipet Sor Vorapin and Karuhat Sor Supawan. Karuhat moreover is going to come from time to time to Jocky Gym to give some lessons.

Vihok Jockygym fought a lot in Boxing, he gained the title of champion of Asia in Boxing, his speciality is of course the work of fists.

The Skarbowsky Gym welcome as well the beginners as the professionals, the trainers have many experiences, they know how to adapt themselves to the needs for the pupils. In the future, the master of the place intends to buy professional Thai fighters to go up boxers’ beautiful team.

For the people who wish to stay for a long time at Skarbowsky Gym, there is a building near the camp with rooms which can be rented weekly or in the month. Price are cheaper for the people who train for Skarbowsky Gym because the camp has an arrangement with the owners (2500 bahts in 6000 bahts, the month, according to the room). For the food, the district teems with small restaurants cheap and there is a big market of Talatkema not far from the camp.
