WANGCHANNOI SOR PALANGCHAI: Very well, in great shape!
What is that you are married, do you have children?
Yes I am married but I have no child…
You come of what region of the Thailand?
I am of Lopburi in the Centre region, the very known city for his numerous monkeys who live in the city…
What is what you have brothers and sisters?
We were four boys in the family and I am the youngest four brothers
One of my older brothers was a boxer, a good boxer very known…
You were a brawler when you were a child?
Yes very brawler, I often fought at the school but also with friend to have fun…
You began the boxing at which age?
I began the boxing towards the age of 10 years
In what age you have make your first fight?
How you discovered the boxing?
Thanks to my older brother who was a boxer, it’s him who taught me the boxing at the beginning…
You began Muay Thai in a camp?
I began to train with my brother for the house, he was my trainer for a long time!
You left at which age to Bangkok?
At the age of 15 I am to go to Bangkok where I fought for the promoter Songchai Ratanasuban during 7 years
I have make many camps, I went to the camp Dechrat, to the camp Muangsurin, to the camp Kietsingnoi, to the camp Sor Khet Talingchan and to the camp Sitchang!

I fought in 118 lbs, in 122 lbs and in 130 lbs
What are the titles which you gained?
I gained the belt of Lumpinee in 108 lbs against Nampon Nong Kee Pahuyuth, then I have to gain the belt of Lumpinee in 122 lbs four times against Superlek Sorn-Esarn, Panomtuanlek Ha Phalang, Karuhat Sor Supawan and Chatchai Payseethong!

How much have you make of fights, how much have you of victory and defeat?
I have make 300 fights for 267 victories, 30 defeats and 3 draws!
Yes gained more than 40 fights by KO!
You had which style of boxing?
It depended on my opponent I adapted myself according to his boxing and I tried to prick him in the body or in the head to put him KO!
What was your technique preferred in fight?
I liked fists but technically I tried to be the most complete with feet and fists
What was your hardest fight so far?
My fight against Samart Payakaroon was difficult because his tip (Front kick) has me many to hamper and in more I was smaller than him!

You have already fought abroad?
Yes in the Scotland, in England, in France, I have make 9 fights abroad with 8 victories and a defeat!
You fought in France in which year?
It was in 1999 and 2000, I wanted to go in France because I knew French fighters and the French fighters are very good thus I wanted to go to face them at their home to beat them, I stayed more than year in France, I gave lessons of boxing in France…

What is according to you the best foreign fighter in Muay Thai, before and today?
I cannot tell you, there are many of the good foreign fighters…
And the best Thai fighter today, it’s who for you?
Today I don’t know too much but for me one of the best fighters in Thailand it’s Somrak Kamsing!

You made well your living thanks to Muay Thai?
Yes I made well my living with the boxing, my standard of living has a lot to increase with regard to the years when I was children…
What was your promoter when you fought?
My promoter was Songchai Ratanasuban
You gained good purse in the time?
Yes of very good purse, my biggest purse was 270 000 bahts!
My last fight was against Rambo-Jew in the stadium of Radja!
Yes and I train in different places, in particular to the camp Dapransarakham to Maha Sarakham because I live over there now, but if somebody is interested I also give private lessons

Wangchannoi was a terror of boxing rings in the 90s, this immense fighter possessed the lightning in his fists, but he was also very strong with his knocks of knees, his low kick and his pokes, it was a complete boxer, an incredible to puncheur!
Wangchannoi was nicknamed “Wonderman” by the aficionados of Muay Thai but the fans of Muay Thai in Thailand had especially nicknamed him ” Aymat 33 Wee ” (The lightning punch in 33 seconds). Because Wangchannoi ” switched off the light ” in many of his opponents, and nickname was him to attribute after his memorable fight against legendary Namkabuan Nong Kee Pahuyuth. Wangchannoi has to bring down Namkabuan in the first round in 33 seconds with a terrible left uppercut in the jaw!
Both champions are to find for the revenge and after a persisted fight Wangchannoi beat again Namkabuan but in points…
Wangchannoi always made violent fights, the punters adored his powerful style and high-contact fighter, Wangchannoi made a lot of fight with dumpans important as against the great champion Oley Kiatoneway where the dumpan in game was of a million bahts, dumpan to gain by the clan of Wangchannoi!
Wangchannoi is one of rare boxer to have beaten the star Samart Payakaroon, for his fight against ” The Tiger “, Wangchannoi gained a purse of 260 000-baht, Wangchannoi was one of the fighters who gained the biggest purse of the circuit in the 90s!
In 1993 Wangchannoi was elected « Best fighter of the year » by The Sport Writers Association of Thailand!
Wangchannoi beat during his career of the great champions such as Samart Payakaroon, Jirapong Sitkorayuth, Kongtoranee Payakaroon, Chatchai Payseethong, Charoensap Kietbangchong, Keansak Sor Ploenchit, Panomtuanlek Ha Phalang (KO), Karuhat Sor Supawan, Superlek Sorn Esarn, Oley Kiatoneway, Samransak Muengsurin, Cherry Sor Wanit (KO), Matee Jedeepitak, Langsuan Panyuttapoom, Chamophet Ha Phalang, Nampon Nong Kee Pahuyuth and Namkabuan Nong Kee Pahuyuth (KO)!
Then, he made a second career in Europe, he defeated boxers how English champions Damien Trainor (TKO), the French champions Christophe Leveque (TKO) and Djamel Yacouben!
