NONG KHAI MUAY THAI GYM

The NONG KHAI MUAY THAI GYM is located in the city of Nong Khai in the province of Nong Khai which is a region in the northeast of Thailand. Nong Khai is the capital of the region. It’s a border town with Laos. The great Mekong river crosses the city and the bridge of Lao-Thai friendship, built in 1994, connects Nong Khai to the Laotian capital, Vientiane. The people of this province speak Laotian.

THE NONG KHAI MUAY THAI GYM HAS A SIMPLE BUT AUTHENTIC INFRASTRUCTURE LIKE MOST OF THE GYMS OF THE NORTHEAST REGION OF THAILAND

This provincial gym was created by a passionate French Muay Thai, Marc JEAN. Based in Thailand for several years, Marc Jean married with a Thai woman who is a professional boxer.

His gym is a typical family gym that welcomes both beginners and experienced boxers.

SEVERAL FOREIGN BOXERS HAVE ALREADY FOUGHT FOR NONG KHAI MUAY THAI GYM

Coaches are experienced and easily adapt to student level. They can prepare professional boxers for fights and also take care of beginners. The two coaches Sailung Or Suwanassin and Petchboonchuay FA Group are great old fighters.

Petchboonchuay was part of the famous Team of the FA Group Gym in Bangkok, the gym of the former star rings Petchboonchu. Petchboonchuay called Tong has recorded more than 200 fights, most of which took place in the big stadiums of the capital. Petchboonchuay still fights, sometimes in the organizations Muay Thai Super Champ and MX Muay Xtreme. In 2017, at the MX Muay Xtreme, he beat the French champion based in Thailand, Brian Denis.

Sailung fought 150 fights in Muay Thai and 54 fights in Boxing, a discipline in which he won a WBF belt.

Om, Marc Jean’s wife, fought 44 fights for 36 victories. She manages the organization of fights for students and management with her husband.

Hello Marc, which region of France do you come from?

I’m from Saint Malo

When did you start Muay Thai?

I started with the Kick Boxing at 16 in city of Dinard, from 16 to 21. Then I started doing Muay Thaï at the Auvergne Tower Hall gym.

I started Muay Thai quite late at 25. I fought in Thailand with Olivier Gauthier at Sit O Inter gym in Phuket.

You fought in Thailand?

I had a fight in Lop Buri where I lived for two years. Then I made seven fights in Nongkhai with four wins, one draw and two losses.

Are you married to a Thai girl?

Yes, we have two children. My wife is a professional boxer, she did 44 fights. She started at the age of 12 at 35 kilos. Then she was boxing around 50 kilos

What year did you start your gym?

I first created in 2013 the gym Ban Na Hi which corresponds to the name of a village 15 km from Nongkhai in the direction of Udon Thani. And in June 2018, I opened Nong Khai Muay Thai Gym in Nong Khai.

Your gym can accommodate professional boxers and beginners?

My gym is open to all, beginners and those who want to fight. I have fought 15 boxers, the best known of which is Benjamin Duverty. He fought at the Lumpinee stadium and in Cambodia. I don’t have any Thai boxers, but I do have foreigners who are fought locally at Max Muay Thai, Lumpinee, Laos, Cambodia, everywhere. We have two good coaches Thaïs, Sailung Or Suwanassin and Petchboonchuay FA Group.
