THAILAND PUNCHERS

The “Punch” is an innate quality for the most part of the big punchers, a real “Godsend”. Certain fighters have this punch naturally but others the work with exercises allying the speed, the precision and the power which allows them to acquire this main advantage. With a puncher, the fights are always stimulant because the boxers who possess the lightning in their fist can in a flash of lightning knock down to turn the tide of a match!

The puncher is often one “Muay Mat” (Strong in fist) but he can also be very technical with his legs, the elbows and the knees. Many of nakmuays punchers make then a career in Boxing.

Punchers of the 80s:

Samransak Muangsurin and Sagat Petchyindee were doubtless both punchers the most dreaded of the 80s.

Samransak (Lumpinee Champion in 126 lbs, world champion WFMA in 126 lbs) is considered by many specialists as one of the biggest punchers of the story of Muay Thai. His fighter’s nickname was “Ay Matsaklek” (The fist of steel, ” saklek ” made a reference to the pestle which crushes the hot pepper for the salad of papaya) because it had a phenomenal power in fists. It was also the great ” Muay Tone ” (Durable boxer) who always made terrible fights in front of numerous opponents that he faced.

Samransak made about 120 fights for 90 wins including fifty won by KO.

Samransak extinguished the light has champions such as Nikom Phetpothong, Maewnoi Sitchang, Saencheung Pinsinchai, Chanchai Sor Tamrangsi, Saengsakda Kitikasem, Yoknoi Fairtex, Punsawat Wor Singhsana, Yodvittaya Sithyodthong, Sakmongkol Sitchuchok, Samranthong Kietbanchong but also the Japanese Masayuki Yamamoto, the American Nelson Placentia!

SAMRANSAK MUANGSURIN

Sagat (Lumpinee Champion, Radja Champion, World Boxing Champion Thai boxing, World Champion Kick Boxing, WBC Asian Champion in Boxing) nicknamed “Lan Yak Suk” (The Happy Giant) and “Yak Pee Ko Mok” (The Phantom Giant) is a legend of boxing rings because he beat in his time the best of his category as Kitty Sor Thanikul, Wangwanloup Maturee, Krontee Sor Sonalan, Nongkhai Sor Prapatsorn, Samart Prasanmirt, Noomthanong Suanmisakawan, Saksakon Sakchanarong, Djinpadeche Sakniran, Nokweed Dawy. Sagat has beaten by KO the legends Wangwanloup Maturee, Petchmongkon Reutchaï and Krontee Sor Sonalan, as well as many others…

On his 317 fights, thanks to his power and his terrible punch he adds up an incredible number of victory by KO with more than 150 KO, a real record!

During several years, Sagat was a scarecrow of boxing rings, to such a point that nobody anymore wanted to face the puncher of Korat, he had to stop the fights during one year…

SAGAT PETCHYINDEE

Punchers of the 90s:

The 90s were furnished well with punchers formidable as Coban Lookchaomaesaitong, Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai, Samson Isaan, Veeraphol Sahaprom, Yokthai Sit Or, Lakhin Wassantasit!

Coban (Lumpinee Champion in 135 lbs, world champion in 140 lbs), nicknamed “Mat Moh Lam” (Doctor KO) was a Taurus of the boxing rings which marked his imprint for ever in the history of Muay Thai.

His power of strike was phenomenal. With his steel chin it was also an incredible durable boxer. All the boxers who faced “The Crusher” remember necessarily their fights in the face of this crusher of bone. Coban is one of the biggest punchers of the history of Muay Thai, is a legend of boxing rings in Thailand.

He took away 90 victories by KO on his 270 fights, he beat by KO the champions as Sornarin Wennakornpatom, Palannoi Kiatanan, Barndon Sitbangprachan (For the belt of Lumpinee in 135 lbs) as well as foreign champions such as Tommy Van Der Berg, Hector Pena, Joe Villa, Sul Auc. Coban is one of the rare to have beaten by KO terrible Samransak Muangsurin and he’s the only one, in the 90s, who beat by KO in the 1st round legendary Dutch champion Ramon Dekkers, the terror of the boxing rings of time!

COBAN LOOKCHAOMAESAITONG

Wangchannoi (Lumpinee Champion in 118 lbs, Lumpinee champion in 122 lbs, “Best boxer of the year” 1993) has made in his career 300 fights with 267 victories of which more than 40 won by KO. Wangchannoi was a terror of boxing rings in the 90s, this immense fighter possessed the lightning in his fists. But he was also very strong with his knocks of knees, his low kick and his pokes, it was a complete boxer, an incredible puncher. Wangchannoi is one of the rare boxers who beat the star Samart Payakaroon.

Wangchannoi was nicknamed “Wonderman” by the aficionados of Muay Thai. But the fans of Muay Thai in Thailand had especially nicknamed him ” Aymat 33 Wee ” (The lightning punch in 33 seconds). This nickname was attributed to him after his memorable fight against legendary Namkabuan Nong Kee Pahuyuth. Wangchannoi brought down Namkabuan in the 1st round in 33 seconds with a terrible left uppercut in the jaw. Wangchannoi ” switched off the light ” in many of his opponents as the great champion Cherry Sor Wanich!

WANGCHANNOI SOR PALANGCHAI

Samson (Lumpinee Champion in 118 lbs, Radja champion in 115 lbs, world champion WBF in Boxing, ” Best boxer of the year ” on 1991) fought under the name of Seanmuangnoï Lukjaopomehksak. Samson was an extraordinary puncher which beat by KO of the champions such as Seanklay Sitkhruot (For the belt of Lumpinee), Keawmorakot Praynan, Jaroensak Kietnakhonechon, Pepsi Piyakphan, Klanwannoy Sitkhruot and it’s one of the rare to have brought down the immense champion Veeraphol Sahaprom.

Samson made a big career in Boxing, his fighter’s name in Boxing was Samson Dutch Boy Gym, it was unconquered in Boxing with 43 professional fights among which 36 taken away by KO. Samson took away the world title WBF in 1994 and he defended him 38 times, nobody managed to dethrone the bull of Roi Et!

SAMSON ISAAN

Veeraphol (Radja Champion in 108 lbs, Radja champion in 112 lbs, Radja champion in 115 lbs, World champion WBA and WBC of Boxing in 118 lbs) nicknamed “Phayak Naa Kroeum” (The Tiger in the grave face) and “Death Mask” because when he fought on the boxing ring his face cleared no emotion, it was impassive during all his fight.

Veeraphol be a member of the biggest punchers of the 90s, he beat by KO great of the discipline as Keawmorakot Praynan, Noppadet Sor Rewadee, Burlek Pinsinchai, Deaneuha Deanmolee, Douangsompong Por Pongsawan, Samson Isaan, Langsuan Phanyuthaphum, Silapathai Jocky gym (For the Radja belt)!

Veeraphol which did the cleaning in the category in Muay Thai turned in Boxing where he made an exceptional career with 72 professional fights for 66 victories among which 46 by KO, 4 defeats and 2 draws. He took away world champion’s belt in two federations the WBC and the WBA!

VEERAPHOL SAHAPROM

Yokthai (Lumpinee Champion in 115 lbs, World champion WBA in Boxing in 115 lbs) was a terrible puncher which beat by KO of the great champions such as Seangmorakot Sor Ploenchit, Lamnamoon Sor Sumalee, Rittidet Kerdpayak and many of the others…

The big promoter Songchai Ratanasuban had given him the nickname of “Aymat Sayklonarok” (The punch of the cyclone of hell).

Yokthai also made a beautiful career in Boxing with 37 professional fights for 28 victories (17 KO), 6 defeats and 3 draws. He gained the belt WBA – 52 kg which he defended four times triumphantly!

YOKTHAI SIT OR

Lakhin Wassantasit (Radja Champion in 115 lbs, Winner of the tournament Isuzu in 115 lbs, Omnoi Champion in 140 lbs, Winner of the tournament Tam Jai in 140 lbs, World champion WMC in 140 lbs) nicknamed « Mat Phayayom » (The puncher from hell) was one of the most formidable punchers the 90s. With his destructive strike he has executed many opponents by KO such as the great champions Wichan Sitchutchoi, Singnoi Sor Prakasan (For the Radja Belt), Sayoknoi Sakphetarun (For the Omnoi Belt and the Tam Jai Tournament Final) Daoden Sor Sakasem, Supernoi Sor Talingchan, Chamnan Saknarin, Dejrit Sor Ploenchit, Daeneuha Daenmolee!

Lakhin is one of the few boxers to be knocked out in the first round by the legendary Burlek Pinsinchai. Lakhin was a terror of the rings, especially at the Ratchadamnoen Stadium where he won many victories, he was twice “Best Fighter of the Year” Radja Stadium!

Lakhin also made a beautiful career in Boxing with 29 professional fights for 27 victories which 18 gained by KO and 2 draws, nobody managed to overcome Nakhon Si Tamarat’s puncher. Lakhin gained in Boxing the belt PABA and OPBF and he made a world championship WBA against the titleholder Daorung Chuwattana who kept his belt after a draw…

LAKHIN WASSANTASIT

Punchers of the years 2000:

The 2000s produced several punchers, including Anuwat Keawsamrit, Thongchai Thor Silachai, Yodsanklai Fairtex, Ekapon Junk.

Anuwat (Radja Champion in – 47 Kg, – 49 Kg, – 51 Kg, – 57 Kg, – 59 Kg, Lumpinee champion in – 57 Kg, Omnoi champion in – 55 Kg, Winner of the Tournament Isuzu in – 55 Kg, World Champion S1 in – 57 Kg, World Champion WBC in – 57 Kg, World Champion WPMF in – 57 Kg, World Champion WMC in – 57 Kg, “Best boxer of the year” 2003 and 2004) is undoubtedly the greatest puncher of the years 2000, this phenomenal champion won his first fight by KO at 14 years. At once, his trainers identify the pearl which they have between their hands, they are going to shape him to make one of the biggest punchers of the story of Muay Thai.

At only 17 years old, he went abroad to Japan to knock down national champion Hinari Fukatsu. When he was 18, he won his first Ratchadamnoen belt in – 47 Kg against Klangsuan Sasiprapa Gym, which he knocked out in the fourth round. In all, he will win five belts of the Ratchadamnoen, in – 47 Kg, in -49 Kg, in – 51 Kg, in – 57 Kg and last in 2010, in – 59 Kg. In 2005, he meets the champion of the Lumpinee in – 57 Kg, Nopparat Keatkamtorn. Anuwat is then champion of the Radjadamnern, he puts KO Nopparat in the 1st round and becomes unified champion of Lumpinee and Ratchadamnoen!

Nicknamed “Iron hands”, Anuwat is an innate puncher. In the 2000s, he was considered, across all categories, with Seanchai Sor Kingstar, the other star of the Muay Thai in Thailand, as the best boxer for these last ten years.

He totaled 151 fights for 106 victories, 58 by KO, 6 draws and 39 defeats. His knockout victories over great champions like Singdam Kiatmuu9, Nopparat Keatkamtorn, Kongpipop Petchyindee, Puja Sor Suwanee, Lerdsila Chumpairtour, Nongbee Kiatyongyut, Phetek Sitjapoh, Fahmai Skindewgym and Wuttidet Lukprabat have definitely put it in the legend of Muay Thai!

ANUWAT KEAWSAMRIT

Thongchai (Lumpinee champion in 105 lbs, Lumpinee champion in 108 lbs, Lumpinee champion in 112 lbs, Lumpinee champion in 115 lbs, Radja champion in 115 lbs, World champion WMC in 115 lbs, Victorious of the Tournament Mitsubishi, ” Best boxer of the year ” on 2001) nicknamed “Maha Hin” (The Big Rock) was a formidable destroyer, he was not a big puncher but he had a devastating power in his knocks as well in technique of fist when technique of foot, he took away many victories by KO on his 334 fights.

Tongchai beat in particular by KO Teelek Por Samranchai, Jaidet Sakhomsing, Ekachai Or Chaibadarn, Manasak Parunchai and is one of the rare to have put KO the legend Seanchai Sor Kingstar (Seanchai lost only twice by KO on more than 300 fights). Tongchai also beat in points the biggest champions such as Nungubon Sitlerchai, Rungrat Sitsanchai, Sinchainoi Saksamut, Kompayak Singmanee, Payrojnoi Sor Sayamchay, Toto Por Pongsawan, Bovy Sor Udomsorn, Detnarong Sijaboon, Namkanbuan Nongkhee Pahuyut, Pornsanae Sitmonchai!

THONGCHAI THOR SILACHAI

Yodsanklai (Lumpinee Champion in 112 lbs, Lumpinee Champion in 147 lbs, Thailand champion in 154 lbs, winner of the Toyota Tournament in 126 lbs and 160 lbs, WBC World Champion in 154 lbs, World Champion WPMF in 154 lbs and 168 lbs, WMC world Champion in 160 lbs, tournament winner S1 in 160 lbs, Thai Fight tournament winner in 154 lbs) nicknamed “Computer Wizard”, has one destructive punching power in his fist. But he’s also very strong with middles and elbows.

At the age of 16, he gains his first belt of Lumpinee – 51 kg, two years later, at the age of 18, he’s victorious of the tournament Toyota – 59 kg. In 2008, he becomes the first winner of the famous TV Tournament “Contendeur Asia”. Yodsanklai gained world champion’s belts in four different federations, the WBC, the WPMF, the WMC and the belt S1. In his career, he has to make 269 fights for 194 victories among which 76 by KO, 71 defeats and 4 draws.

Until 2015, he was considered all over the world as the strongest boxer of his category. Because he beat the biggest foreign fighters of moment such as Australian John Wayn Parr, Victor Nagbe, Bruce Macfie, French Farid Villaume (KO), Yohan Lidon (Stop referee), Gregory Choplin (KO), Samy Sana, Antuan Pinto, Karim Ghajji, English Jordan Watson, Dutch Marco Pique, Russian Artem Levin (KO), the Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre, South African Vuyisile Colossa, Slovenian Vladimir Konsky (KO), the Cambodian Keo Rumchang (KO), Russian Dzhabar Askerov!

Yodsanklai defeated by KO the Thai champions Yotong Pitakruchaiden, Nopparat Keatkhamtorn, Phutawan Buriram, Pornpitak Petchudomchaï, Watcharachaï Kaewsamrit, Tuantong Chartchatee, Ruankaew Sor Boonyan, Malaipet Sasiprapa, Tum Mardsua, Lamsongkram Chuwattana, Narupol Fairtex, Kem Sitsongpeenong!

Yodsanklai still trains for the camp Fairtex, he fights much less, but this exceptional champion is always in service, ready to face any fighters of the planet…

YODSANKLAI FAIRTEX

Ekapon (WFKB World Champion, Thepprasit Stadium Champion, PABA Asian Champion in Boxing, WBC Asian Concil Champion in Boxing) is certainly one of the biggest punchers of the 2000s.

In 9 years, for his first fight, the young boy Ekapon already goes on the rampage by causing his referee to stop his opponent, his opponent stop in the third round. This innate puncher is going to become a merciless machine in KO, during his career Ekapon made 366 fights with 324 victories among which 260 victories gained by KO, an incredible record!

Punchers of the years 2010:

The 2010s are rich in big caliber punchers such as Yodlekphet Aor Pitisak, Sing Parunchai, Tengnueng Sitjesairong, PhetpiKat Sor Kanbuth, Chokprecha Kor Sakooncher, Songkom Sakhomsin, Suayai Chor Haapayak, Yodkunpon Sitmonchai, Thepnimit Sitmonchai!

Yodlekphet (Radja Champion in 135 lbs) is nicknamed ” Samson 2 “ in reference to the formidable puncher the 90s, Samson Isaan. With his punch, Yodlekphet can put at any time KO his opponent. His combinations in hooks followed of low kick are also terribly effective.

Tengnueng (Thai Fight Champion in 154 lbs, Super Cup Isuzu Champion in 154 lbs, Victorious of the tournament Weber in 154 lbs, Omnoi Champion in 154 lbs) nicknamed Super X, is a terrible fighter, a destroyer of the boxing rings who possesses formidable technical one of pokes. TENGNUENG SITJESAIRONG

Phetpikart (Max Muay Thai Champion in 135 lbs, Radja Champion in 140 lbs) is a powerful boxer who is very strong with his pokes and his fists, it’s the formidable puncher that carries well his name of fighter “The destructive Diamond”. Phetpikart took away champion’s belt Max Muay Thai in 135 lbs (Belt Silver) in October, 2015. Phetpikart also won the belt of Radja in 140 lbs in March, 2013 against Japanese Hiroki Ishii Fujimoto Gym who held the belt. Phetpikart which fought in 130 lbs beat the Japanese champion by KO at his home in Japan and he took him his belt in 140 lbs in spite of the weighty difference.

Phetpikart beat many good fighters by KO such as Rambo Phetphokaw, Nopakao Kor Kesanon, Klakhunsuek Chumpairtour, Siangmorakot Chuwattana, Inzeedam Kiatpontip, Petchpibon So Kor Siripong, Raksing Kilakorat, Changsuk Kiatsongrit, Fasatan Rachanon!

PHETPIKART SOR KANBUTH

Chokprecha (Lumpinee Champion in 115 lbs, Lumpinee Champion in 118 lbs, TV7 Champion in 115 lbs) is nicknamed “Rambo from Rayong” because he trained in a camp of Rayong who is near Pattaya and Rambo makes a reference to the famous bruiser of the 90s, Rambo “Pongsiri Por Pongsawang”. Chokprecha put KO the great champion Nuangthep Eminentair in 2011 for the belt of Lumpinee in 115 lbs. In 2012, Chokprecha beat formidable Satanfaa Eminentair in points for the belt TV7 in 115 lbs, in 2013, Chokprecha beat again Satanfaa but this time for the belt of Lumpinee in 118 lbs.

Chokprecha is a terrific puncher who beat the best in his category by knockout as Kaenpichit Sakburirum, Werachai Wor Wiwatananont, Phetaik Look Bor Kor, Kengkart Por Pekko, Jomrawee Sor Peksomboun, Pepsi Chor Wacharapon, Jaiphet Sor Klangprakon, Jampatong Sitpanon, Mueanpon Por Pongsawang, Satanfaa Eminentair, Keanpichit Sakburiram, Kamlayok Kor Romsritong!

CHOPRECHA KOR SAKOONCHER

Songkom (WBC Youth World Champion in Boxing in 112 lbs) “The double-edged sword” is a young prodigy who won in 2012, just 17 years old, the WBC Youth World Championship belt in Boxing against Filipino Wilber Andogan. Songkom defeated the Filipino by KO, then defended his title successfully by knocking down by KO, the Indonesian Bonis Burba. In Muay Thai, Songkom is also a formidable puncher who knocked out champions such as Hongtonglek Chor Farpiansee, Nuengthep Eminentair, Theppithak Pithakmuangcan, Wanchai Sor Kitisak, Thelek Wor Sungprapai, Luknimit Singklongsi, Bangpleenoi 96 Peenang, Siangdaolek Sor Kitichai, Thomas Sor Chajaroen, Chanapetch 91 Rungrot!

SONGKOM SAKHOMSIN

Suayai (Omnoi Champion in 105 lbs, Thai Rat Champion in 105 lbs) which is 19 years old is the new terror of boxing rings in the small categories. Suayai “The big Tiger” possesses a lightning punch, he beat Phetsakon Thor Lasong by KO in the fifth round on December 30th, 2015 in Radja, in 2016, he beat, in May, Sanpetch Namseangkosang by KO in the second round, in August, Detkat Por Pongsawang in the fifth round and in September, Witayalek Petsimuu by KO in the first round. Suayai also overcame by KO, in 2014, Phetprab Kaiyanghadaw and Lekpech Portelakun!

Suayai had won his Omnoi belt on August 9, 2014 by beating by knockout second round Phetchatchai Sitbenjom. Suayai is currently ranked N° 1 at the Omnoi stadium in 105 lbs because he lost his belt from the Omnoi stadium on April 25, 2015 against Senthanong Thor Silachai who beat him by knockout. Senthanong is also a formidable hitter who beat by KO Yodchartchay Huarongnamkeng, Tito Sitjalermchai, Tekhak Por Petkaykweo, Saylek PK Seanchai Gym!

SUAYAI CHOR HAAPAYAK

The two great fighters of the famous camp Sitmonchai Gym, Yodkunpon Sitmonchai and Thepnimit Sitmonchai, are also enormous punchers.

Yodkunpon who is 22 years old, beat by KO of the champions as Armin Pumpanmuang, Chokdee Sitjakong, Danchai Kiatpataraphan, Mapichit Sitsongpeenong. On his 83 fights, Yodkunpon took away 50 by KO. Today, he became a fighter of the famous organization Glory and Top King – 70 kg, he beat by KO, at the top King, Portuguese Esteban Lopez in July, 2016!

YOKUNPON SITMONCHAI

Thepnimit nicknamed “Mat Maha Hin” (The stone fist) made 110 fights with about 50 victories gained by KO. Thepnimit put KO many champions such as Sensatan Sor Suradej, Nimsayam Chor Kor Isuzu, Penneung Thor Phran 49, Kwanphet Sor Suwanpakdee, Seangmorakot Thor Manutmanasak, Nathapon Nachokweetayakom, Petchmai Sitjedao, Lom Isan Sitsorung!

THEPNIMIT SITMONCHAI
